Olympic Torch Relay

Go Wendy Go - last Saturday Wendy Neal led the Olympic Torch Relay through the streets of Prudhoe

For the second time this month the people of Prudhoe turned out to throng the streets in celebration

Meanwhile back at Ready Steady Knit, Helen is practising crocheting while eating a large plate of muffins - all ready for our Knit and natter groups now running on Tuesdays and Thursdays  - ring or email us for details.
And my latest project is finished - a snugly cap sleeved jacket knit in Sirdar Denim Ultra  - just right for this cold damp summer.

Beautiful baby booties

One of the unexpected bonuses of having a knitting shop is being able to share the enjoyment of those lovely finished projects with my knitters.

Pam was very happy with these tiny booties she has just finished.
This is the book the pattern came from - this is the third pair she has made and they have all been really successful- must reorder this book again.

And Audrey has just finished this lovely jacket for herself in Sirdar Denim Ultra - very quick and easy to knit up on size 10mm needles - it has taken her just 10 days

I must finish my latest project in the same Denim Ultra yarn and hope it looks as good as this one .

Celebrations were started by local newsreaders Colin Briggs and Kenny Toal, weatherman Paul Mooney and our MP Guy Opperman
There were things to eat .................
Things to do.................
Shows to watch ...............

And Music to listen to.
Then we had these 2 visitors in the shop. Knitted by Jean!

Hope you enjoyed your Jubilee celebrations too.

Bunting up ready for Jubilee

Bunting up and ready to go!! All ready for the Jubilee Street Party on Prudhoe Front Street on Sunday. The window is dressed for the occasion - knitted bunting inside cos it won't do well in the rain - just like those knitted swim suits!!And lots of ribbon in red, white and blue and red white and blue!!
New in today we have a delivery of Trekking sock yarn - these are wonderful for the striped effect they produce with simple plain knitting. They come in kit form too - all you need to knit your first pair of socks - a set of 5 double pointed needles, wool, pattern, instructions, stitch markers and even a needle to sew up the toes.

this is Ann - our first customer to come back into the shop wearing what she has knitted - a lovely summer scarf in Aruba.
And finally - the scenic shot - this perfect family of swans on the Bradley Pond in Crawcrook in the sun last Sunday - hope we get some sun this weekend.
